Governor Scott Appoints Cissy Proctor as Executive Director of DEO
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott appointed Cissy Proctor as the Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Her appointment is effective January 9, 2016.
Governor Scott said, “Cissy has been a great member of the DEO team and has accomplished a lot during her time at the agency. She has a strong background in legislative affairs, and I know she will be a great partner with the Florida Legislature to continue to diversify our economy. Her great work to support job growth for Florida families is a strong testament to the work she will do as Executive Director. She will provide leadership and help make Florida first for jobs.”
Cissy Proctor has served as the Chief of Staff of DEO since January 2015. She has been at DEO since January 2013 and previously served as the Deputy Legislative Affairs Director and the Director of the Division of Strategic Business Development. Before working at DEO, Proctor was an attorney at Bryant Miller Olive from 2004 to 2013. Proctor received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her Juris Doctor degree at Florida State University College of Law.
